NHB Advisors, experience and insight on behalf of our clients makes the difference.  NHB Advisors insight allowed us to advise against turning a fleet of cars back to Chrysler prior to its bankruptcy, recommending instead that the cars be sold at auction.  This decision, made before the Chrysler bankruptcy became a reality, generated our client millions of dollars more in proceeds than it would have potentially received had it turned the fleet back, only to become an unwitting unsecured creditor of Chrysler.

The overpopulation of auto dealers has now reached the tipping point. With GM and Chrysler’s bankruptcies and related mass closing of dealers, the lenders to these and other at-risk dealers may immediately face non-performing loans, with bleak prospects.

Those who act early will likely realize far greater recoveries in controlled liquidations, where floor plan lines are reduced in an orderly manner and overall operations and expense levels are right sized for the current economic reality. Those who wait until there is a further glut of cars and parts on the market will suffer the consequences of their delay.
