Principal
ohn Bambach is a Principal at NachmanHaysBrownstein, Inc. (“NHB”). He has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in leading change as a CEO, COO and CFO with profit-and-loss responsibility. Mr. Bambach is known for his “roll up the sleeves” approach to turnaround management, assisting clients by acting as chief negotiator, restructuring partner, sales manager, collections agent and main interface to the stakeholders. He has also trained existing management or helped retain new management for clients.
Mr. Bambach’s industry experience includes: biotechnology and other technology-based businesses, telecommunications, finance, construction and manufacturing. Mr. Bambach’s responsibilities have included turnaround management, mergers and acquisitions, operational improvement, business development and strategic planning. He has also served as an advisor to technology-based businesses regarding strategic relationships, acquisitions, divestitures and liquidation options.
Prior to joining NHB, John Bambach was a Director in the Restructuring and Insolvency Group of Parente Randolph, a leading regional accounting and consulting services firm. His experience there included assisting start-up businesses, out of court restructurings and restoration of profitability, lead financial advisor and strategist to a construction firm through and out of bankruptcy, returning it to profitability. Mr. Bambach’s typical contributions included: negotiating out-of-court settlements with secured and unsecured creditors, avoiding bankruptcy, and helping to restore profitability; assisting in refinancing and restructuring debt and equity; serving as court-approved Financial Advisor to several Official Unsecured Creditor Committees in bankruptcy proceedings; and serving as Financial Advisor to a Debtor in bankruptcy, successfully confirming a Plan of Reorganization and emergence from Chapter 11.
Mr. Bambach has also served as interim CEO of a publishing company, and was instrumental in guiding that firm to its first profitable year in over 9 years of operations. He also assisted an eLearning firm in establishing a pricing model for its software, established key partnerships with distribution partners and developed its sales staff.
Previously, Mr. Bambach founded VisionTel, an award-winning telecom start-up which developed the first real-time digital ad insertion software system for the cable and broadcast industry, and provided an enterprise system including modules for CRM, billing, accounts receivable and Internet access.
During his tenure as Chairman and CEO of Integrated Telecommunications Corp. (“ITC”), Mr. Bambach increased enterprise value by a factor of forty. At ITC, John Bambach led a turnaround, restructuring operations and debt, returning to breakeven within 90 days. ITC was subsequently sold successfully. Prior to ITC, John Bambach was an investment banker with E.F. Hutton, now part of American Express.
John Bambach is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP). He is an Adjunct Faculty Member of New York Institute of Technology’s Ellis Graduate School, where he teaches Corporate Finance and Economics. He holds an MBA degree from NYIT (Ellis) and a BA degree from LaSalle University.
