Sarah Pugh is a Director at NHB Advisors, Inc. and part of its Fiduciary Services Group. She has years of experience as a practicing attorney and provider of fiduciary services in bankruptcies and restructurings.
Ms. Pugh has joined NHB Advisors, Inc. from Walker Nell Consultants, Inc., where she was a Senior Consultant, with her practice including bankruptcy consulting services to liquidating trusts, such as claims administration, preparing liquidation analyses, litigating avoidance actions, assisting in the preparation of tax filings, managing the assets of the bankruptcy estate and preparing filings with the Bankruptcy Court. She has also prepared pleadings based upon substantial preference analysis computations and claims objections, and has participated in settlement negotiations.
Previously, Sarah Pugh was employed as an attorney at Becket & Lee, a law firm specializing in bankruptcy, where she represented national credit card companies in high balance fraud cases. Her duties included preparing and researching trial briefs, various motions, and pleadings pursuant to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Rules.
Prior to Becket and Lee, Ms. Pugh was employed as a financial consultant at Parente Randolph, LLC, a regional accounting and consulting firm, in its Business Reorganization Group. At Parente Randolph, Ms. Pugh assisted the disbursing agent in calculating distribution schedules for various Chapter 11 bankruptcies. Also, she performed multi-million dollar preferential analysis computations, compiled and prepared Bankruptcy Statements and Schedules for Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 filings, and prepared Monthly Operating Reports and monthly bank reconciliations for corporate filings with the Bankruptcy Court.
Sarah Pugh received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University with a minor in Business Law, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. She was an active member of the Syracuse Law Review, and was the Treasurer of the Tax Society. In addition, she served as Research Assistant to Martin Fried, Crandall Melvin Professor of Wills and Trusts. Ms. Pugh currently serves as the Treasurer and on the Board of Directors of Career Success, Inc., a nonprofit organization which provides work opportunities to TANF recipients. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
